CASA OF THE PERMIAN BASIN AREA, INC. MISSION STATEMENT:
 CASA of the Permian Basin trains Volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the court system to ensure that each child is placed in a safe, permanent and healthy environment.
 
 
PROGRAM STANDARDS:
In order to be recognized as a viable CASA program, CASA of the Permian Basin Area, Inc. complies with the standards as outlined by the National CASA Association, Texas CASA, Inc.
 
 
NATIONAL CASA ASSOCIATION:
CASA of the Permian Basin Area, Inc. is a member of the National CASA Association and recognized the standards for CASA programs as approved by the National CASA Association Board of Directors. These standards are intended to allow for local and state autonomy and innovation while providing a definition of what a CASA program is and whom a CASA volunteer serves. Adherence to these standards is a condition of membership.
 
 
TEXAS CASA ASSOCIATION:
CASA of the Permian Basin Area, Inc. is a member of the Texas CASA Association and recognizes the standards for CASA programs as approved by the Texas CASA, Inc. Board of Directors. These standards must be adhered to by local CASA programs and their volunteers as a condition of membership.
 
 
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
 CASA of the Permian Basin Area, Inc. program provides trained volunteers to advocate for the best interest of the children who come into the court system as a result of abuse or neglect. The program has a mission and purpose in keeping with the mission and purpose set by the National and Texas CASA Associations and abides by the CASA code of ethics as outlined by those organizations.
 
The management and operation of the program assures adequate supervision of CASA volunteers. The program also keeps written records on each applicant, volunteer and case. The program does not accept applicants if they have been convicted of, or have charges pending for a
 
felony or misdemeanor involving a sex offense, child abuse or neglect, or related acts that would pose risks to children or to the CASA program’s credibility.
 
The program has an established procedure to allow the immediate reporting to the court or through the appropriate agency of a situation in which a CASA volunteer has reason to believe that a child is in eminent danger.
